Do you think that people need to "get with the program"?

Have you seen many of the sarcastic questions being posted in here daily trying to educate people? Do you think that these questions help show how stupid or dangerous an idea is?

For example questions on Giant Chihuahuas or Teacup German Shepherds. These are designed to show that there are reasons for breed standards and that it would be unhealthy to try and breed something like that. Or the mix breeding questions about a Shih Tzu and Jack Russell (Jack Shihs) or Shih Tzu and Bull Terrier (Bull Shihs) or Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso (Lhasa Shihs) to point out that mixing breeds for cutsey names is just wrong!

When you read them, doesn't the shear stupidity make you think? Do you understand the point of these types of questions? Do you think that the sarcasim will get understanding to people where reason and statistics fail? Or do you just think they shouldn't be asked at all?

they amuse me…but then sarcastism is fun and honestly if u deal or work in a shelter u have to make fun and jokes else u won't last long. while there is no real humor in the facts… some may think its cold hearted others understand how fustrating it is. so the Q and the A's from others is a relief form the OMG's what do i do's.
few have had the pleasure of taking 2-3 wheel borrows full dead dogs/cats from the freezer to a dumpster weekly…. *note sarcasim* if we didn't have fun on that trip….i would have never been able to work / help at the shelter for so many years. as i kid watch the older women who run the shelter make fun of the fact I to thought how cold of them. but as time went on there comnes an understanding if u didn't laugh you would cry. and coming back for the week the day the deed is done wouldn't happen… also when one answers so many questions of idiots who think breeding is a game, that designer dogs are cool…or won't have their dog fixed cause its againist god or whatever…

sooo go right a head if u want….maybe to let everyone in on the joke who does not know u or are here much..type the Q and at the end write *sarcasim* or something of like….but i won't be shocked if u go missing…cause of reporting and the powers that be of YA's.

OHH duhhh…i don't think it gets to the the ones u want it to…they wouldn't know what do if it for real.

I think they are great- sometimes I can't help but ask one- however they are dangerous because they are often inside jokes and if you joke back with the poster people who think the question is serious will report you.

'trash can yorkies' for example got me in big trouble :P

Personally, I doubt that these questions getting through to the people they're aimed at. I doubt these people really read too many other questions, and if they do, I wonder if they see anything "wrong" with the scenario described.

For myself, I create the bizarre questions for a laugh or when one more idiotic question is just going to drive me up the wall.

I do feel bad for the sincere people who don't understand that it's a joke. I wouldn't want to mock people giving good, honest answers to a purposely-stupid question just because they don't "get it." (Like the person who suggested I name my "new dog", aka an extinct thylacine, "Simon." Or the people who gave me honest advice for caring for Simon.)

I used to find them funny, but I've read too many for them to be of any humor any longer. I understand the point of these questions, but I don't think that any of these backyard breeder idiots actually get what they're supposed to do. Figures. Must have something to do with their thick skulls.

I dont think that hte right people are "getting it" at all. I mean, darlyn's answer to my doodle question got deleted because she called me trash (and I totally missed it!) . Then she posted a legitimate question asking people if someone apologized for something they said that got them reported would even matter and she got reported again! What's up with that?

Unfortunately – maybe our "humorous" pointing out people's stupidity questions are giving people ideas. How long before someone posts a question about their "rottendoodle" (courtesy of DP)?

But you know what they do for me? They make me laugh, they give me a mental break away from the "my dog is 67 days pregnant what should I do (posted THREE times!!)". I need those mental breaks that those that are "with the program" give me. Otherwise- I may go insane!!

Backyard breeders and puppymills are wrong but when you ask questions about breeding your dogs, the people you are trying to reach do not care. It seems you are getting responses from people who know you on this forum and not everyone on this forum knows you so others are answering and trying to tell you it is wrong and then someone sarcastically tells everyone it is a joke and makes it seem the people trying to tell you it is wrong, are ridiculous for not realizing it is a joke. Your questions are not funny to those that care about dogs. Some of your questions look just like the questions that are posted here daily and for those of us who do not know you, you appear to be a backyard breeder or puppymill that does not care.
I personally think you are going overboard and your questions are monotonous and ridiculous. There are better ways to educate people and I do not think that making fun of people or insulting them is going to make them listen to you.

I see so many people talking about all the dogs dying in shelters, so since you breed what makes you any different? When you breed and someone buys a dog from you, isn't any puppy you create taking a home from a dog in the shelter? You criticize and insult others for breeding but out of curiousity are your dogs Champions? Have they proved their worthiness by being shown? Having champions in the pedigree or being a pure bred does not mean the dog should be bred, the dogs that are being bred should be champions. Is this what you breed? Many backyard breeders own the b*tch and the sire, do you?

There are many breed rescues and shelters and I do not see the people who work in those places everyday trying to save animals act so ignorantly towards others but somwehow they manage to educate others about spaying and neutering their pets and teach people how to care for them too.

You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Something for you to consider.

I think sarcasm shows arrogance. Sorry, but that's how I feel and you did ask.

Nobody has to agree with each other. Nobody has to even like each other. But everyone should be polite to each other. You have an agenda. Fine. Have it. But if someone else comes asking a question, whether you like them or not, it is correct behavior to be polite.I have an agenda. I like to see dogs loved and well taken care of. I don't like the questions about "should I go to the vet when my dog was ran over". But I try to be polite. At least I hope I don't sound sarcastic.

I love them. Some people need the added shock value in order to think. Especially on here where the same stupid question is asked over and over again. Nothing wrong with making a few eyes pop out of their heads if it saves a dog or litter of pups. Also, some just need to get a sense of humor. Funny the same ones that keep reporting us are the same that search us down to see what we said, isn't it?

Why thank you Hard Times that was my brainstorm to ask that question.

Sadly I believe while we are laughing at the stupidity ' They ' are reporting and acting like they don't think it's ' Them ' that everyone is trying to get to.. Those who need to know or need to learn, are the ones that care not to learn or admit they are the problem.

I appears that many of the people answering these questions are not they types of people who would ask these questions. Many of them are giving sarcastic answers back in fun. I would hope many would read them and understand the sarcasm…but they probably don't. They are not as experienced and have no idea you are being sarcastic. Plus, they wouldn't know how to answer the question, so they are probably skipping over the question to another question like "what should I name my dog".
