i have a dog that is 1.5 years old a male, shih-tzu maltese very friendly playful nice and has been neutered. The facts are that you should get a puppy if you already have a dog and the opposite sex? I was looking into getting a teacup version of my dog at this local breeder where i got him. should i do that? what other types of teacups are nice. or just very small?

Since your male is neutered there is no reason why you can't bring in another dog into your house, a female would be a nice companion for him. If you have a dog breeder that has more puppies and you want another dog go for it.

If its neutered, it'll be okay. I'd get a dog around the same size, or they might tend to fight, or get stepped on…..ouch.

i beg to differ,my shihtzu bitch was 2 years old when a bought another shihtzu bitch puppy of 8 weeks.the pup is now a year old and they get along like a house on fire,cant bear to be apart!in my experience the same sex dogs together can work.

I think that any type of small or teacup dog Personally I would look into getting a Maltese I have a one year old Maltese and hes the best dog I have ever had out of the 10 dogs I have had I have found that the Maltese doesn't ever have problems with getting along with other dogs they also are trained very easily Maltose's also have lower maintenance coats then the poodle the Maltese also doesn't shed But now comes the question, Do you want a show dog or a fun walking lap dog Many show dogs are very expensive 700 dollars + But if you just want a fun dog 200 or less Just make sure you go to a good breeder not a puppy mill!!!! We rescued our dog from a puppy mill that said they were absolutely not a puppy mill but when we were given a tour the conditions were terrible there were about 200+ dogs and about 6 per crate I hope this information helps If you have any other questions please email me Just also to add maltoses only weigh about 3-10 lb
