My year old shihtzu growls and is very aggresive when playing. No punishment seems to work.?

She obeys "Dad" but is aggresive with mouth open with "Mom" especially when Mom is trying to hitch her to her leash.
I'm really discouraged and welcome any suggestions.

You need to analysis the difference in how "Dad" deals with the puppy and how "mon" deals with the puppy. there is some reason why the puppy is respecting one and not the other. It could be assurance in how the dog will respond, tone of voice, or body posture. If you can't determine the reasons on your own then a dog trainer would be a big help.

See a trainer. It sounds like there are too many problems here for us to possibly fix all of them online. This dog and the ENTIRE family needs to attend a training class.

Good luck.

she don't respect your mom she does not see you mom as the alpha. You mom is going to have to start being more dominant with her.

i have a puppy… he's a year and a half and also has "selective hearing" and obedience issues. my last dog had the same thing and we found out that it was just an age thing. with age comes obedience and understanding. once dogs get past the puppy stage most of them start to slow down and don't have as much energy. My suggestion is patience. good luck.

I had the problem and what i did was vigorous obedient training. She has to so to speak ask permission to sit on my lap this is showing that Im the alpha dog and not her that right their solved a lot of problems
