Are there any shih tzu breeders in alabama? I'm looking to by one within the next few months. Thanks in advance for your help

There are a lot of BYBers who are breeding these great little dogs, so do be careful. Do not get a breeder who is breeding "imperial" or "teacup" Shih Tzus; these are undersized dogs being bred for $$$. Definately again, never buy from a breeder who does not screen for hereditary conditions. Avoid sites like Puppyfind (http://www.petfinder.org is a different site, and an acceptable one) or Livedeal.

I was looking for another Shih Tzu around Christmas and came across way to many poorly bred pups. Here is the link to the American Shih Tzu Club. It gives you important information about the breed and what to ask when buying one. They also have a breeder referral too. Please be very careful in the puppy you choose, there are too many people over breeding these beautiful creatures!

my sister-in-law in Kansas works for the humane society and she goes and rescues shih tzu and other little dogs from bad homes, I got a female named Edye from her and a friend got Pepe…free of charge

short is better becuase long then he or she loses hair more and you have lots of dog hair all over your house then maybe if she or he has long hair take them to pet grooming to get all better they will make your dog awesome.

For me it’s easier …
For me it’s easier to keep them short, because their always outside. Plus I don’t have to groom them everyday. If you let the hair grow out you got to brush them everyday or they’ll snare quickly. Shih Tzu hair grows pretty fast and it does get pretty difficult to keep them groomed. So the shorter the less fuss to worry about. I personally think their cuter with short hair, because they don’t look like mops. lol.
