How many times should you bathe a shih tzu puppy?

I just got a shih tzu puppy and I don't know how many times I should bathe it. I searched in the internet but there isn't any specific answer to my question.

how many times over the dogs whole life?
    in a week?
    a month?
a year? a day? your question is vague!!!!!

my dog gets a bath when she gets groomed 6-8 weeks or when she is dirty or stinky.

I got a shih tzu also.I have always bathed it when it looks dirty….does it no harm.I find using baby shampoo is best but still be careful not to get the shampoo in the dogs eyes or ears!

No more than absolutely necessary – once a month at most. Bathing, no matter what kind of shampoo you use, strips the oils out of the dog's coat and dries the skin as well. When you do bath your puppy, use only dog shampoo and be sure to rinse very, very thoroughly because any shampoo residue gets itchy, causing a dog to scratch.

Here is a quote from the American Shih Tzu Club.

"A dog that is not being shown will probably need a bath every three weeks or so–more often if he decides to roll in a mud puddle or encounters a skunk! A dirty coat tends to tangle more than a clean one, so it behooves you to bathe your dog as often as needed. "
