What, may I ask you, is a…?

Pocket Pinscher?
Or an Imperial Shih Tzu?

http://www.teacupspuppies.com/available%20puppies.htm

I mean other than ill-bred, probably unhealthy puppies (have a look at the site – how many dogs do they have for sale at once?!), what are they?

Merely a sad and twisted breeder producing smaller puppies for profit… terrible thing. I've already given my mind (and a few others) to Exquisite Puppies on YouTube.

Education will stop irresponsible breeders!

what are they? Sad creatures bred for lining someone's pocket book? I don't know..

I see the one miniature pinscher on the available page and it says that the projected adult weight is less than 10lbs. Why don't they just breed regular miniature pinschers then… that's the projected weight of a fully grown REGULAR one..

    Puppy mill!!

    100% Puppy mill.

And there really is no such thing as a pocket pincher.

it is probably some deformation gene of the miniature pincher they purposely bred to make them smaller.

Kind of like how they search for the dwarfism gene in some cats and intentionally breed them… then classify the results as a "specialty cat"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munchkin_(cat)

There is also word on the internet that puppymills "Make" the dogs smaller by keeping them in unfit conditions, poor nutrition and separating them from mom too soon.

This can all affect proper growth.

OMG I saw the Yorkie… less than 5 pounds??!!

even the smallest Yorkie weighs at least 7!! that's just sick!!

And the AKC recognizes a Shih Tzu as between 9-16 pounds.

They state that "Mini Shih Tzus or Tea Cups" are dogs that are often an undersized or underdeveloped Shih Tzu.

Both the AKC and ASTC consider these variances to not be in conformity with the official breed standard.

who would want a dog that small anyway? My brother's new puppy is about 3 pounds right now, (puppy mill rescue), and he's so light you feel like you'll break him if you hold him, and if you lightly tug on his leash, you're worried he'll go flying.

My dog is 16 pounds and sometimes I think he's too small when I'm tripping over him because he quietly gets under my feet. at least my little man is a tough cookie.

Why would you INTENTIONALLY breed a breakable dog?!

    Look at yorkie number 265.
PUKE! That doesn't look like a yorkie at all!
When I first saw it i didn't think it actually was a yorkie.
I thought it was some sort of Long haired Chi mix.

And they even sell dog clothes!!!!!!!!!!!

    OMGOSH!!!!!!!! I just puked again!!!

Tea cup dogs are not all their cracked up to be. Yes they are ill-bred, unhealthy dogs. There also often ill-tempered: high strung, mean and may atack small children. Tea cup dogs were bred to be easy to manage and dogs that look like puppies all their lives. I personaly have great disdain for tea cup breeds.

omg, that is a puppymill. Look up the standards and a well bred puppy up against these puppies and you see a big difference between them. Did you notice what all the money brings in on the jewlery that the lady is wearing in the pictures. It just sickens me when I see websites like these. Ignore them and just spred the word on how bad they are. The more we educate people the harder it is for them to sell these dogs.
