Shih tzu puppies!! Anyone know of legit breeders?? ?

you could try looking on kennel club website. this is where we looked and found the breeder for our Golden Retriever Kennel club only deals with pedegree breeders though

Try the Kennel Club website, they have breeders listed, and at least you can be sure it is a pure bred and that the person exists and is on file.

You will still need to check conditions and ask about health issues and how they have tried to out breed them. Not all kennel club members breed healthy dogs.

sigh………..ANY reputable breeder of quality AKC registered stock is simple to "find".

One CALLS their local (county)kennel club & asks.
One contacts the parent club & asks.
One goes to shows & asks the exhibitors.

One does NOT post on-line,assuming any old stranger here is intelligent,sane.experienced or adult

My first suggestion is look at your local shelters or Shih Tzu rescue. You may just find the puppy of your dreams there.

NEVER buy online! If you really want to go to a breeder, make sure you can go to their place and check out the puppy and the puppy's parents and the housing/kennel where they are kept. Also, make sure they offer a health guarantee on the puppy. Make sure you take it to the vet for an initial check-up within 3 days of getting it.

If the breeder makes excuses as to why you are not able to see these things, RUN!

go to the shihtzuclub website they have a puppy coordinator who will put you in touch with legit breeders…what scam are you on about….never buy from pet shops or free ad papers…if you are put in touch with a breeder who has sold all hers she will recommend another breeder….known to her as we all get to know who has puppies and who to avoid and will give you all relevant information…or go to the kennel club website

Why in heaven's name would you want to go to a breeder when there are thousands of homeless dogs and puppies at shelters and rescues!! Oh, you want a purebred….there are many rescues and shelters that have pure bred dogs, including ShihTzu's. They don't have mine anymore, but there are so many out there. Petfinders.com is a great place to start. Search your area, search the breed, search the age. Whoops, you want to breed them…then you should know reputable breeders!!!
It just angers me so much that there are so many PUPPY MILLS and BACK YARD BREEDERS out there that sell dogs at a cheap price. They are all over the country…all over the internet…and people still insist on finding reputable legit place to buy a pure bred puppy or dog. These poor PM and BYB dogs are mistreated, bred to death, interbred, and when of no use to their abuser, left to die unmercfully or ground up for dog food!!
For all those reputable breeders out there, I am sorry, I have no problem with those who breed for show and treat their dogs royally. It is those who abuse their dogs that angers me. Those who are only in if for the money and don't care about the dogs or where they go. Those who treat these poor creatures as a product and profit, and don't care about their health, well being or happiness.
Go to a shelter, go to a rescue or go to petfnders.com.
