I am just curious if from a Shih Tzu breeder or shower if she would be considered a good looking dog.
I am not interested in showing or breeding her, just wondering ![]()
I am thinking of getting her. Her parents are both Shih Tzus. She is very cute but I don't think she looks like a Shih Tzu either. But it doesn't really matter to me lol I was just wondering if anyone else agreed.
I have a Shih Tzu too and she is really cute but her nose isn’t smushed in enough at least it doesn’t look like that in the photo. If you like her and she makes you happy then get her my dog is no where a breed standard but she’s mine and i love her more than anything. My baby has a cockeye and nine nipples so you can definitely say she is not breed standard

She is very cute, I own a shih tzu too!
Anyways, you will not be able to tell if she is of showing standard until she is full grown. She must be the apropriate height/weight, and so on….
well, best of luck to you and good luck!

She's too young to tell as of yet, and the pictures don't even allow one to see if she's potential show quality. A reputable breeder should be able to tell you if she looks show quality or not, and someone that knows about the breed here may be able to tell you as well if you put her in a stacked position.
If she is show quality- Certainly get her into shows when she gets old enough (I believe you can start at a few months of age) if she's registered with a reputable kennel club though; That's the best way to find out if she's breeding quality.
Add:
I have to agree, she doesn't look like most Shih Tzus I've seen. I wonder if she's possibly a mixed breed. Does she have AKC or UKC papers that show both her parents are registered Shih Tzus?
That same question makes me worry somewhat at the qualifications of the breeder. If you plan to get her- Make sure you're buying from a reputable breeder and not a back yard breeder!

You will not be able to tell if she is of Breed Standard until she is older. To be breed Standard she must be of the Ideally, height at withers is 9 to 10½ inches; but, not less than 8 inches nor more than 11 inches. Ideally, weight of mature shih tzu, 9 to 16 pounds. Proportion – Length between withers and root of tail is slightly longer than height at withers. The Shih Tzu must never be so high stationed as to appear leggy, nor so low stationed as to appear dumpy or squatty. Substance – Regardless of size, the Shih Tzu is always compact, solid and carries good weight and substance. But you will know when she is older if she is up to breed standard.
Good luck and i hope this Helps!

It’s hard to tell when a dog is a puppy but it does not look like a show quality dog. It may grow up to become a champion for all I know but the look is not a typical Shih-Tzu that I have generally seen.

I own to shih-tzu’s myself, and Im sorry to say that puppy doesnt look like a shih-tzu to me. It looks like it is mixed with something else in the bloodline.
Cute Puppy though
