They are also known as Zuchons, Shichons and recently the Teddy Bear breed of dogs.

The only "breeders" of these dogs are inexperienced people out to make a buck and are willing to rip off a person like you to get it. Stay away from ANY "breeders" of designer dogs. It's a scam. I can't even tell you how many of these dogs end up in shelters. Tons.

In the rest of the world they are known as mutts or mixed breeds. No reputable breeder would consciously breed such dogs.

I'm in the UK and have two of these beautiful dogs. Ignore the ranters, probably pedigree breeders who are peeved that these hybrids are now overtaking their inbred dogs in the popularity stakes. My vet told me these dogs have hybrid vigour, cancelling out all the health problems typical to full pedigree dogs due to their excessive inbreeding. These mixed breeds are now being recognised, but not yet shown, at Crufts. Take the labradoodle, awful name, but may be the first to classed as a recognised breed.
