You need to puppy-proof your house, which involves looking at things like a puppy would. Puppies chew and get into everything, so things like cords need to be picked up, shoes need to be put in a closet, garbage pails may need to be elevated as well. You need to assume to that she is going to get into everything, because chances are, she probably will. Good luck!

decided if your crating and do not give in when attempting to crate if the dog crys (if you respond everytime it whines its going to figure out that that is what it needs to do to get attention.)
take into account the feed bowls, sometimes if they can make a noise or be flipped with just a little weight then they are probly not the right ones for the dog. some dogs become scared of the bowls.

Research, research, research. I can not stress this enough. Far too many people bring the cute puppy home without enough information and either are not prepared or find out that cute face has something they can't deal with.
Make 100% sure this dog is going to fit your life style and you can give it proper care before you bring it home.
Both dog books, and the internet are great places for information. Who ever your getting the dog from should also be able to answer most questions you have.
