im getting a puppie of my own very soon and i need to know which one to get a shih tzu or a maltese. the dog would would have to be good alone for up to 7 hours a day. i would like a sweet pup thats easy to house train to and has a good temper. Any suggestions?
what about a lhasa apso? i hear there stubborn though. Any body know anything about this breed?
Don't get either breed if you want one to house train easy!!!Or a lasa for that matter. Mabey a schnouser, Japanese chin, Pekingese……….Shih tzu's especially are very hard to train.
7 hours a day is too much.
And it's spelled "puppy," not "puppie."
Puppies need constant attention and they pee and poo everywhere. You need to clean up after them and come home every 3-6 hours. Can you do that? can you care for the dog's food, vet bills, etc for 15 years?
get one from a breeder or shelter
avoid pet stores: the puppies are overpriced and comes from puppy mills

Shih-tzus are the best dogs on earth. btw, Amie B is wrong. Shih-tzus are soooo easy to house train. I have 3 of 'em and a other one who died. (RIP Coco) I'm well experienced.

Maltese are very easy to house train, they are very smart.But 7 hours is too long and if you need to train one you need alot of time.

its hard i have 1 you can never leave it alone or it will cry/bark when ur going to sleep take it to sleep with u

I should say maltese because they're are easy to train and are mainly quiet…. They should by able to stay alone for 7 hours…
