   since both breeds don't really shed the maltese/shih tzu mix shouldn't shed much either.
   they are "hairy" meaning they have lots of long hair, so if your dad's allergic to dog fur then i don't know if a "mal-shi" would be the best for you guys.
   maybe consider a chinese crested?
   and they be anywhere from 5-16 pounds.
   and up to 11 inches.
   (this is based on info about malteses and shih tzus, since you're getting a mutt you won't know exactly how big it'll get.)

   7 to 20 lbs because one is a small dog and the other is a little larger and you just never know.

   Your dad is allergic to the dander not the fur… but maltese fur is like human hair and is supposed to be hypoallergenic.

   1. Both the Maltese and Shih-Tzu shed little, so your dog will probably shed little too. All dogs shed, but some more than others.

   2. It's hard to predict how a mixed breed will turn out. Both breeds aren't too big, so your dog probably won't be too big.
