The dried dog food I was planning to feed them contains salmon meal, that why I am curious
Yes, they can, but it has to be cooked, 100% de-boned and you need to be careful not to feed them to much or they'll get diarrhea. Salmon and mackerel are particularly good for dogs because of the oil in it. But not more than 2 or 3 bites for a small dog who's not used to it.

Shouldn't feed fish to dogs and especially the small ones. It's usually too rich for their little tummies.
Chicken is okay, but no bones (they splinter!)

They can have small portions, but if you feed them too much, they can get sick. Make sure the fish is cooked and deboned to prevent any problems. Salmon is very good for the skin and coat.
