Have you gotten the point yet? It does not not not matter what any breeder of teacups, micro minis, imperials, majesty, teddy bears, tiny toy dogs tells you. Thy are breeding outside of the standard set down by the BREED CLUB. They are out to make money not provide you with a happy healthy pet with which to spend your life with.
There is no such thing as a teacup, tiny toy, micro mini etc etc etc
Yes the pet shop lied to you, the dogs came from a broker, puppymill or a bad breeder they are working with. The health guarantee is crap and unless you get a lawyer or raise a big stink no you won’t get your money back.
These dogs are already small enough as it is. They don’t need to be smaller and they don’t need to be carried around in a purse.
So this doesn’t get reported : So with this current trend to make everything smaller, what would you do if you haven’t already if you saw a so called mini or your medium sized or large breed dog?
If anyone hasn't guessed I am just sick to death of the summer of teacups and micro minis. Admittedly I prefer large dogs, but i used to live with a Shih-tzu who was full size and still a small dog. Well until he stretched out in the door way then he was a big pain in the a$$.
BBBBAAAADDDDD Dreamer very bad. ^_^
Damn I can't use the paddle? *smacks dreamer's hand
Good Girl :
haha gotcha.
Lori – if you don't get the point then you missed the whole purpose of this question which is to EDUCATE the number of trend hound girls who visit this site asking about this extra mini dog or that one. Will they learn? Some will and that makes one less person who gets ripped off.
LOL teacup Pit Bull or teacup Mastiff, that would be a sight…the sad thing is theres probably someone out there that will try to make one.
if i seen one i would be very disappointed and disgusted just like i am with the smaller breeds

Amen to that. =D

True true!
I HATE "Mini/toy Australian Shepherds"!
I would be so mad if anyone tried to make a mini German Shepherd or a mini Golden Retriever

Oh yeah? Well my Royal Standard French Poodle is pure bread and from a great breeder. I know because she takes PayPal and let me meet both parents before!
And my friend's micro mini datsun is from a great breeder that she found on puppy find. She has champion lines, duh.

Oh, and so I don't get "violated", then answer to your question is "I gently correct them".

I always wonder why the deposit is non refundable, no matter what the breeder, even when you return a puppy due to it not being healthy?

Someone once saw my perfectly-sized 10.5" 7lb Papillon and told me he looked "really big" for a Pap. I very sharply informed her that HE was the correct size and those miserable little two pound runts were the product of crappy breeding and would never set foot in a show ring. She walked off in a huff.
People have asked me if I have a purse for him. I inform them that he is a dog with four perfectly functional legs and only an idiot would carry a creature that is capable of walking itself.
Thankfully, I have never personally laid eyes on a Papillon that was undersized.
I do take great pleasure during work hours, however, when people tell me their dog is a "teacup" or "imperial" anything, I very calmly write "Chihuahua" or "Shih Tzu" in large letters on the card while the owner is watching- without using any prefixes or adjectives. It's hysterical when you can actually SEE them get huffy at my refusal to acknowledge their "special" names. (I do the same thing with designer mutts- sorry folks, in my grooming shop there are a whole lot of dogs listed as "Poodle X".)
Edit: *sigh* I know, I'm sorry… here, smack my hand for being a bad girl…

Amen! I’m sick of this!
Actually, I have a story to tell about “minis” of my breed of choice: Aussies. They already advertise “mini”, “toy”, and yes, even “teacup” versions of this great breed–which makes me just sick!
Anway, I am a member of 2 Yahoo groups on the Aussie subject, one for my hotmail email and one for my Yahoo email. There’s this woman on my Yahoo email group who claims to be a “reputable” breeder of “mini Aussies”. She was complaining because a puppy mill was busted and she couldnt rescue some of their “minis” (to breed? who knows) because Petfinder doesnt list Mini Aussies. She was outraged!
I asked, nicely, if Mini Aussies were a recognized breed (they are NOT) and got TONS of replies on the subject (from other users) that they were in fact, NOT a breed–and that’s exactly why Petfinder doesnt recognize them.
She claimed we were just starting a breed-bashing session! When will some learn!?
