there's only one size of shih tzu period! toy dogs only come in one standard size. there's no such thing as a teacup dog! that's a term backyard breeders give unhealthy runts and sickly malnourished puppies to get your money! that 2,000 dollar puppy will cost you nothing but vet bills and heartache in the future, so avoid the backyard breeder BS and get a standard size, healthy puppy from a reputable breeder or adopt from your local pound References :
teacup shih tzu's are 3-6lbs as adults, imperial shih-tzu's 6-9lbs……..if you are looking into getting a shih tzu I personally would stick to your average shih tzu breed, for health reasons, most of the time the smaller the puppy the more health problems they have especially with teacup anything! Yes small dogs are cute but you want them healthy too References :
imperial is bigger….teacup means tiny.
