why do they put shih-tzu dogs?

on almost ALMOST every pic i see they have a haircut like this!!! http://api.ning.com/files/nsciKG1iHOYJUW9jyFR*lxkEElzdyrYjOAYuMp4aSi8Fg0B9zj-FdVeXQH5XPS6dL0I26feuGIgYV**juRSJBVD3EGBufkWH/ShihTzu14.jpg
i find i super cute but why?

That's not a haircut. That's a full maintained coat for the breed.

Edit: This is what they look like in a full coat. Most pet owners cannot maintain this type of drop coat so they have them groomed and cut back so the coat is easy to care for.

That is the standard haircut for that breed. There’s a plastic rubber band that the hair is put into the top of the ‘pony tail’ on the head.

This is probably one of the acceptable show quality cuts. I think it’s ugly.

Because they want to make the dog look as appealing and cute as possible.

    ADD:
The photo you have linked looks like a Shih Tzu that hasn't had much excessive hair cutting and is just trimmed up a bit. Here is a full photo of one with minimal trimming:

Many people prefer to have their Shih Tzu's trimmed a little more, so they look more like a puppy. (which can be costly if you take it to the groomer often)
