My needs:
CANNOT SHED
Very small, toy (size), 12 inches and under
Im 15, and my family has a dog (schnoodle), but I want my own…
I was thinking of a Yorkie, Maltese, Shih-tzu, Toy Poodle (without that gay poofy haircut lol), or any mix of those.
I think you should get a poodle ,but give it a mohawk instead of the traditional puffy hair do. I have 2 toy poodles and they do sometimes sport a mohawk. I keep the rest of their coat very short, not puffy at all.

hey, just look at dogs and see which one fits you best. Thats all

first yorkies shed hair and need alot of brushing, maltese shed hair also, shih-tzu pee and poop like crazy around the house and toy poodles also need alot of attention. i would reccommend a chiuaua(or how ever u spell it)

Shih-tzu for sure

Unless you get a hairless breed of dog, they are all going to shed.

I have only had experiance with Yorkies and Toy Poodles. THey are both great dogs, though if i had to choose i would pick the Poodle. Yorkies can be a little bit shy.. But then again Poodles ALWAYS want your attention and to be carried around everywhere…

I wouldn't go with a toy poodle…my cousins have had them before, and they have all been very mean (they bite and snap and growl). Why not go to a local animal shelter and rescue a little dog? My neighbors have a little mixed breed that doesn't shed and she's the sweetest miniature dog I know.

I'm giving you a link to a list of low shedding dogs. I have two Portuguese Water Dogs–which are on the list. You should know that there is no such think as a dog that does not shed. There are dogs that have a single coat and they shed very little. But they do shed. Think of it like when you brush your own hair. Typically, you don't leave your hair all over the house, but you do leave some in your brush. These dogs will shed a little. If you go for a mixed breed dog there is no guarantee that it won't shed like a normal dog unless it is a mix of only low shedding dogs. Your schnoodle might be a low shedder-so you know all of this. Hope the link helps. http://www.bigdogboutique.com/ProductCart/pc/hypoallergenic_dogs.html

i have a yorkie maltese :]
I'm not a big fan of any of those… but if I were you, I'd go with Maltese.
of toy breeds, my favorite is Chihuahuas, and teacups at that.

I would get a King Charles Spaniel if I were you…. I'm 15 also, and I just got a Regular sized Cocker Spaniel. Since you want a smaller dog, i suggest the KCS. They only grow to about 10 – 12 in.
I absolutly LOVE Spaniels and think they are the only way to go. My new baby girl is the sweetest thing ever!!!

Yorkies and Maltese shed like an old feather duster,Shih-tzu mat terribly unless combed daily and groomed often although shedding isn't problem. Jack Russells are known as the ADHD of dog world (more hyper than a bee hive in a bear pen),Chihuahuas are only species to bite me,very defensive and easily provoked, poodles are yawn, yawn poodles.I'd say go with French Bulldog or Pug but neither is cheap if mom and pop are on a tight budget.
