I need help because my 1year old female shih tzu just got her very first hair cut on saturday ( which is 2days from today). the groomer had to shave all her hair off because it was all tangled up. when i picked her up from the groomer place, she's been acting weird, not herself ever since the haircut. usually shes very active, she would play with her toys, when i tell her who's at the door she would run by the door, when i tell her to go up the stairs she would. Now she doesnt do all that, now she would just sit in one spot for hours..biting her tail, licking her paws ect. and i see her shaking, so i put her clothes on her. I dont know if its cause shes ON HEAT right now, i dont know if its cause of her hair cut now that shes bald and not use to it.
im really worried, HELP HELP PLEASEEEEE!

I had my dog shaved about 3 weeks ago. He was really lethargic too after the shave. He kept licking himself. Then I notice a patch of hair was gone. I thought it was because he had been licking so much. Turned out to be ringworm, the patch of hair that missing was round, about the size of a softball!! It might have been from dirty clippers. Ringworm is a fungus. The vet has pills to treat ringworm. I treated my dog with a anti-fungal spray from Walgreens.
My sisters dog hid for days when she cut off all her fur.My sister has a Yorkie.I assumed she was embarrassed.She shivered all the time also. Once her fur started to grow back in she was fine. My sister now makes sure she is brushed regularly to avoid her getting matted. She will not put the dog through it again.

She is probably a bit stressed by having to have all her hair cut off she should be fine in a couple of days, if not see a vet. Why was her hair all tangled???

I rescued a shih tzu from the animal shelter yesterday. I took him to the groomers today for a complete shave. His hair is so matted he could not sleep last nite. I feel so sorry for the lil fella. I have to pick him up from the groomers in a couple of hours. I hope he will be ok. After reading the outcome of the others it scares me. But I had no other choice, the poor thing was in pain. I hope all of his hair grows quickly. The weather is changing fast. I will keep you posted.
