As I promised you earlier on, here are some great and easy to prepare dog food recipes. Believe me they are tasty doggy meals/treats, and you can’t go wrong with them.
Refer below-
· 6 chicken thighs
· 4 cups frozen vegetables (NO onions) 3 tsp. garlic minced
· 3 cups oatmeal
· 3 cups flour
· 3 eggs
Boil chicken pieces, de-bone, puree w/food processor, set aside (use broth from chicken as needed)
Puree vegetables add with chicken (use broth from chicken as needed)
Preheat oven 350
Add garlic, eggs, and hand mix well
Add oatmeal, flour hand mix well
Coat baking pan with non-stick oil (Pam) (first coating only, not needed for next batch) Drop by large heaping tablespoon on cookie sheet (Flatten the dough out a little with spoon)
Bake for 15 min. for chewy 20 min. for brown bottom (they are not made to be real hard)
· 1 jar baby-food, dinner, vegetables and beef, strained
· 2 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
· 1 cup whole wheat flour
· 1 cup rice
· 1 package unflavored gelatin
· 1 whole egg
· 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
· 1 cup powdered milk
· 1 package yeast
· 1/4 cup warm water
· 1 beef bouillon cube
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Add yeast, egg, oil, baby food and dissolved beef bouillon. Mix well. Mixture will be very dry, knead with hands until it forms a ball. Roll out on floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness, cut in 1 or 2 inch circles. Bake on un-greased cookie sheet 30 minutes at 300 degrees.
Store in refrigerator.
· 1/2 pound ground beef — or turkey, chicken, lamb
· 1/4 cup cooked rice
· 1 small potato
· 1/4 cup green beans — about 5-8 beans
· 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Brown the meat in a pan. When completely cooked, drain the fat. Add the cooked rice; mix well. Set aside. Cut the potato and beans into small bite-sized pieces. Place in a pot with water; bring to a boil. Simmer until veggies are tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain. Add the vegetables to the meat mixture. Add garlic powder; toss thoroughly under low heat. Let the dinner cool thoroughly before serving to prevent burning.
Yield: about 2 dinners
These should get you started and your dog will just love them. You won’t find them hard to put together, even I can do it! All you need to do is shop for your loved dog, in the same way you would yourself. If you need an extra ingredient you buy it when you do your supermarket shopping- it’s that easy. I have 5 shih-tzus and the most popular meal that they like is beef heart or also called ox heart diced.Beleive me they are extremely fussy.I used to boil chicken pieces and then take the meat from the bones when cooked and cooled but they turn their nose up at that now.
I FEED MY SHITZU A DRY FOOD THAT IS GRAIN FREE. “TASTE OF THE WILD” IS THE BRAND. THEY HAVE 3 OR 4 FLAVORS, AND SHE LIKES THE TWO I HAVE TRIED HER ON. I HAVE ONLY HAD HER SINCE THE END OF MAY, GOT HER FROM A SHELTER, AND HAVE BEEN DELIGHTED WITH HER FROM THE BEGINNING. INSTINCT IS ANOTHER REAL GOOD BRAND, SAFE AND ORGANIC.

Here is a treat recipe that I guarantee your dog (s) will be crazy for. It is 100% healthy as I have two Shih Tzu’s and one is diabetic…….
1-1/2 lbs. beef liver (do not use veal)
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 eggs
Grind up liver in food processor. Add flour and eggs and mix well. Spread on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool, cut into squares with a pizza cutter. Can be kept in the frig. in an airtight container for up to a week and a half (if they last that long)!!

Only thing is I was told not to give Runt garlic. It is a member of the onion family and can cause problems. To be on the save side I am going to try them without it.
I have a hard time getting Runt to eat anything. He will eat Mighty Dog rice and lamb, but I don’t like some of the other engredients.
can you subsatute something fore the potatoes. they make my shihtzu heidi really sick.n she is a very fussy eater the only thing she will eat n only sometimes is beef top choice n cesar but my vet said cesars are only a treat.every once n a while.i hope she likes some of these recipes even two i will be happy.thank you
I noticed one of the recipes has “garlic powder” listed – But I’ve been told by several pet stores to never give dog “garlic” or “grapes” so what gives

WHAT A FAMILY ! THEN A LADY AT THE VETS GAVE ME A SHIH-TZU, I FELL IN LOVE !!!! SHE WAS BLACK & WHITE !- SOMEONE TRIED TO STEEL HER & GUESS SHE GOT AWAY, BUT THE POLICE FOUND HER ON THE STREET A WAYS FROM OUR HOUSE ! I HAVE HAD ABOUT 6 OR 8 AT LEAST ,& I LOVED THEM DEARLY , ALL I HAVE LEFT IS “HOLLY NOEL” A CHRISMAS BABY !SHE IS 5 YR’S OLD,& SO FUSSY ABOUT HER FOOD !
