can you show a dog for fun?

i have a 17 month old male shih tzu he is not in anyway registered with akc so that is out of the question he is neutered as well my question is where do i find a place to show my dog for fun just for fun i have other dogs in my home and if anyone knows of a place where i can show a mixed breed dog again just for fun although there might be no such thing i would really appreciate it but it doesnt hurt to ask i live in tampa,fl so anywhere near tampa is fine. or if anyone has any links to websites or anything with information like that.also places where they do events for dogs besides taking them to the doggie beach and dog park please let me know i would like to take them out and possibly meet other people that has a shih tzu or a mixed breed dog or anything like that.thank you in advance.

Yes, sure. Find your local Mixed Breed Dog Club. Mixed breeds and unregistered dogs can also compete in obedience (including rally obedience) and agility. Here's a sample club's website:

If you just want to do obedience and agility with an unregistered purebred, you can get an ILP number from the AKC and compete that way.
